Charity

The Order's primary purpose is charity

The OCM's most important activity today is also to promote an ecumenical spirit and work for a more humane society. Personality and acceptance of the Order's moral principles create the basis for this work, which can be fulfilled by everyone in their own environment and daily duties. A knight's duty is to be an example to others and to be someone people can trust.

Humanitarian and peace-promoting activities are carried out within the Order and are financed by entrance fees, annual membership fees and voluntary donations.

Within the various Commanderies, the members decide for themselves which activities and relief efforts in the spirit of the Order they want to carry out under their own auspices.

The knight is a servant and the foundation of the Order's activities. The Order's social and charitable work is coordinated by the Order's government. The Order continuously supports the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Africa's educational work. The local units are free to carry out their own spiritual and charitable activities, however, in accordance with the Order's ideals.
